So, we finished signing the papers and went to supper, then off to Home Depot. Ours is just a 2/3 store so it doesn't have all the sections of a regular big city Home Depot . . . which seems like a big waste of time . . . you build a HUGE store like that and don't bother to put in all the stuff? Anyway, it has all of what we needed for right now so we picked up the painting stuff and Josiah chewed his way thru the paint roller aisle and we were set.
So, we're homeowners! Insert triumphant music here. The whole thing went relatively smoothly . . . well, we don't really have anything to compare it to . . . aside from the last minute drama of "the bank appraiser is not going to release funding to the seller until the things he wants done are completed and we gave the seller a whole month to complete them so why aren't they done yet?" We got this phone call about 2 hours before we were scheduled to be at the title company for our paper signing. None of it was our work to do but the seller wouldn't give us the keys before he got the money and we were on a tight schedule between getting the new place painted and ready to move in and the trailer cleaned out and turned back to the Park people so we didn't have to pay much rent for July. God took over, tho, and after several, ahem, stern phone calls to our agent and Kev offering to fix the stuff himself and an additional $175 we shouldn't have had to pay all was well and the appraiser released funding and we went ahead and signed. Ridiculous amounts of paper, I must say. I haven't signed my name that much since I was a case worker for the Welfare Dept in CA. God Bless America and it's "paperless society". Yeah right. 
So, I figured I'd better get these on here before Thurs when he turns 11 months old. Yeah, I'm right on top of things. He doesn't look much like a baby anymore - he's a little boy now. Here's what he's into: 
And I love when I get totally surprised by a picture. This next one I shot with my biggest lens from behind a bush, and it was actually a shot of the whole hoopa (the tulle canopy) area with the bridesmaides and groom and preacher and half of the crowd. But when I got it onto the computer and was looking thru the ceremony shots I realized I got this awesome picture of the bride and her daddy . . . the look of pride on his face says it all. Wow, goosebumps. 
And I LOVE how the grooms brother politely looked away for the kiss. Had to keep him.
Their table decorations were so cute with the apples. Of course, after 8 hours in the sun at 105 degrees they became baked apples so several people took them home to eat with vanilla ice cream.

So, as promised, here is the front of our house. Yes, it's on a slight slope . . . no, i'm not cocky-wallered . . . and I took this with my camera phone and it doesn't do horiz photos very well. The house looks smaller from the front but it goes back pretty deep on the lot and is almost 3000 sq. feet total. And since we have that big yard in the back it's nice that the front yard is not so big . . . cuts down on mowing time. For some reason the previous people liked to advertise their BBQ dinner nites and cooked in the front yard . . . we plan to use the back deck like most of America.
