So, Josiah is sick. Pretty bad. I didn't post yesterday because literally if he wasn't sleeping, he was crying and wouldn't let us put him down. No swing, no bouncy-seat, no excer-saucer, nothing. We spent several hours last night trying to decide if it warranted a trip to the ER . . . we don't have a walk-in clinic here and all the dr's are closed by 7pm . . . but in the end we decided to see how he did thru the night and try to get in to his dr today. He slept okay, but since it's a chest thing I had to sleep sitting up on the couch with him on his tummy on my shoulder for him to be able to breathe without coughing. Second night of that, actually. The first night I kept having to shake him when he would start gasping to make sure he started breathing again . . . needless to say I didn't sleep much that night . . . but last night he did much better as long as he didn't start to cry. Then it was gasping and coughing and wheezing.
Just got back from the dr's and they said his lungs and ears are pretty clear, it's just that his airway and throat are REALLY irritated and probably hurt a ton. That's why he hasn't been eating . . . he only had a total of 12oz of formula ALL DAY yesterday and only 6 today so far . . . dr said that it's probably really hurting to swallow and since he can't tell us that, he just cries more. We'll start the amox drops in just a minute and get him feeling better. But since he's finally asleep right now wild horses stampeding couldn't make me wake him to give him the meds. I think I'll wait until he wakes up.
On a happy note, he's up to 15lbs, 12oz today. And only 3mos old. Our little ham!
